Approximately 200 gathered for the “Friends at Century, Gould, Magnetek and A. O. Smith” reunion held Sept. 21 in the banquet hall at The Detention in Morrison. This was the second annual reunion since the factory closed in 2007. The group will meet again next year on the third Saturday in September. The factory produced its first order of electric motors when it opened in 1960. The factory was built in 1959 on the site of the old fairgrounds on Red Road. Thousands of people in Warren and surrounding counties have worked for the company over its 47 years in operation in McMinnville. Three tables were set up at the reunion with almost 1,000 names honoring the co-workers who have passed away.
