Clay wins district oratorical contest
oratorical contest1
Covenant Academy student Erica Clay brought home a first-place win during the American Legions District Oratorical Contest after advancing from local competition in second place. She will represent her school, as well as American Legion Post 173 and American Legion 5th District, during division competition in February.
Student Erica Clay is a shining example as to why you shouldn’t discount second place. Clay came in second during a post-level Oratorical Contest offered by American Legion Post 173 at Covenant Academy in December. She advanced to district competition along with Emma Kate Wrather, who was favored to win after taking first place.
