Funding to pave city streets has been increased to $750,000 for fiscal year 2017-18.The city Finance Committee has reviewed proposed budget requests and increased the funds designated for paving from $500,000 to $750,000. The decision came after McMinnville Public Works Department assistant director Brad Hennessee asked committee members to consider increasing the amount to $1 million, which is what he had originally requested. Alderman Steve Harvey expressed a desire to increase the amount even more due to $500,000 not paving many streets.
