Tuesday night, the Board of Mayor and Aldermen voted to adopt the annual budget and tax rate, including a 25-cent property tax increase, for the fiscal year July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024. Alderman Steve Harvey opened the discussion by referring to the meeting earlier in June when Stacey Harvey had taken issue with information shared by former Alderman Everett Brock during the period for public comment to the Board he felt was inaccurate.
