Three cars were involved in an accident on Crisp Springs Road Saturday afternoon that left one individual injured.
On Saturday at approximately 1:40 p.m., Tennessee Highway Patrol, Warren County Sheriff’s Department and emergency services were called to the scene of a three-car collision at the intersection of Crisp Springs Rd. and 70S. Timothy Jernigan, 19, of McMinnville was reportedly traveling south on Crisp Springs Rd. in a Mazda 3 where he alleges he did not see oncoming traffic before crossing into the path of David Johnathan, 68, of McMinnville who was traveling east on 70S in a Toyota CR-V with one passenger, his wife, Sylvia Johnathan, 71.
According to State Trooper Ben Cannon, Jernigan’s vehicle was struck by Johnathan’s on the passenger side. The momentum from the impact sent Jernigan’s vehicle straight ahead and into a Ford Bronco driven by Reginald Hall, 29, of McMinnville, who was approaching the stop sign. Johnathan’s CR-V spun around and came to a rest at the guardrail on the eastern side of the intersection after coming into contact with Jernigan’s vehicle.
Jernigan’s passenger, Ashley Dillon, 19, of McMinnville was transported to Ascension Saint Thomas River Park Hospital for a possible head injury. A citation for failure to yield right of way was given to Jernigan.
