The Shops of Rock Island are celebrating fall this Saturday with an abundance of activity from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
All Rock Island merchants will be participating and each offering something unique. The Rustic Touch will have drawings for discounts, Rock Island Depot is offering a no-sales tax discount, and a food tent located at the Rock Island Emporium.
Face Painting will be available at the Ice Cream Trolley, pumpkin decorating at Mill Rock Farms, a food truck offering ‘fair treats’ at the Rock Island Center, and door prizes at the Grateful Welder. The Lazy Daisy will offer gift certificates while Rock Island Market will draw for T-shirts. Many other food booths will be available and Rock Island State Park rangers will have live animals intermittently throughout the day beside Griffin Antiques.
A car show and food truck will be located in the parking lot of Rock Island Treasures and hosted by owner, Melissa Shackles. Proceeds from this Saturday’s events will be donated locally to someone who is currently fighting breast cancer or possibly a survivor.
“Breast cancer holds a very special place in my heart and my co-worker Beverly Clinard who has already fought and won this battle,” said Shackles. “Please join us in making this assistance possible.”
Other booths of kettle corn, candles, soaps and much more will be dispersed throughout the area, and Rock Island Presbyterian Church will offer music and s’mores.
For your convenience, walking paths have been made between businesses and additional free parking will be available at Rock Island Church of Christ, Rock Island Presbyterian Church and Bino’s.
