After more than two years of traveling at cautious speeds, Simpkins Energy is ready to remove the training wheels and pick up some velocity. Business owner Kent Simpkins treated local officials to a tour of his facility at 107 Magness Drive on Tuesday and displayed the natural gas compressors being built there from scratch. The natural gas compressors serve as fueling stations for vehicles that have been converted to run on compressed natural gas. Kent says this is the wave of the future as natural gas presents a tremendous annual cost savings over gasoline – even with gasoline at its current rate of under $2 a gallon.“All the world is going to natural gas,” said Kent.
