Burglar gets year in jail

A man who broke into a residence on Flat Shoals Road has been sentenced to serve a year behind bars.The burglar, Zacharria Logan Usrey, 30, entered guilty pleas before Circuit Court Judge Bart Stanley and was ordered to serve one year of a five-year sentence on charges of aggravated burglary and grand theft.Usery was charged after the victim came home to find his house had been broken into by someone kicking in his front door. An inventory revealed several items missing including a flat-screen TV, stereo system, power tools, three long guns and electronic products, along with an arrow head collection.Investigators were able to determine Usrey was a suspect in the break-in and went to question him.“He admitted to being in possession of many of the items that were reported stolen,” said sheriff’s investigator Travis Thaxton, noting the total value of the missing possessions was estimated to be around $4,700.
