McMinnville Police Department continues to investigate circumstances surrounding a baseball bat-wielding attack that occurred Thursday afternoon.

According to McMinnville Police Department detective Austin Wortman, the situation involved several persons and several baseball bats.

“We’re reviewing surveillance camera footage at this time,” said Wortman. “No arrests have been made. Several parties left the scene before officers arrived. We’re hoping those surveillance cameras will help with the investigation.”

Officers responded to a fight in progress behind Georgia Career Institute located at 755 N. Chancery Street at approximately 4 p.m. Thursday.

“There were at least six people involved,” said Wortman. “We believe there to be several bats involved.”

No one was transported to Saint Thomas River Park for treatment, but three individuals were evaluated at the scene by Warren County EMS.

“There were multiple injuries as a result of this situation,” said Wortman. “No one was transported by ambulance. They may have gone on their own later.”
