Bark for Life, a celebration of man’s best friend and a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, will be held this Saturday, May 21, at Riverfront Park.
Same-day registration starts at 11 a.m. The ceremony is from 12 to 3 p.m. Participation fee is $20 for the first canine and $10 for each additional canine.
“Bark for Life is a fundraising event honoring the life-long contributions of our canine caregivers,” said Holly Walker, who is the event organizer. “It presents an opportunity for people to be empowered through their canine companion partnerships and to contribute to cancer cures through the mission of the American Cancer Society.”
The event will start with a walk on the Barren Fork Greenway. It will be similar to that of Relay for Life night. Also during the event, there will be pet-related vendors and food vendors. Come dressed to impress as there will be dog contests, such as best dress, best dog tricks, and most relay-spirited dog. A photographer will be on hand to take canine and companion photos.
Vendors signed up so far include Plunder, Younique, Initial Outfitters, ItWorks, Thirty-One, doTERRA oil, Perfectly Posh, and Initials Inc.
Warren County Animal Control and Adoption Center will be on hand with some dogs that need good homes. For more information, or to request a registration form, call Walker at 743-7962.
