Weed management talk set for Dec. 1

With the dreaded Palmer Amaranth having a solid foothold here in the county, the importance of a solid weed-management program and the importance of applying pre-emergent herbicides for our crops has never been higher. To address this issue, Dr. Larry Steckel, well known weed scientist and researcher of the Palmer Amaranth will be the featured speaker at the annual Middle Tennessee Weeds night. The event is Thursday, Dec. 1 at 6:30 p.m. at Woodbury Lions Club Building, 612 Lehman St. Woodbury.In addition to Palmer Amaranth management, Dr. Steckel will have the latest news on the availability and use of the new Extend soybean varieties which has been highly anticipated as well as the latest research and news regarding the new formula of herbicide and is required from the grower to acquire the seed and chemical.
