Help a child receive a free book while listening to “A Heartland Christmas: Storytelling with Bill Landry” on Tuesday at First United Methodist Church Outreach Center on West Main Street. “This heart-warming presentation of Appalachian Christmas stories is a Books From Birth event from Main Street McMinnville,” said Books from Birth representative Mary Robbins. Landry, producer and host (retired) of WBIR-TV Knoxville’s Emmy award winning Heartland Series, published “Appalachian Tales & Heartland Adventures,” a 187-page coffee table book full of everything from moonshining, to the natural beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, to a tourist who wanted to ride an elk.Admission is a minimum $12 donation to the Warren County Books From Birth program.
