When the economy turned sour, the employees at Kirby Real Estate Company determined a way to make a difference – give money.Over the past two years, Kirby Real Estate employees have donated more than $15,000 in personal and company contributions to local charities, according to co-owner Lynne Cole.“This is part of an ongoing program,” said Cole. “We decided about two years ago to give part of our sales commissions back to charity and this was done voluntarily by all of our agents. We really feel this is something we need to do, especially since the economy turned downward.”Cole made a recent donation of $1,000 to Meals on Wheels and director Martha Pepper.
