The Children’s Advocacy Center has received permission from McMinnville officials to hold the second annual Kids Funfest and Safety Day at McMinnville Civic Center on April 5 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., rain or shine. The event is a collaborative effort between CAC, Families in Crisis, Hamilton Street Activity Center and Kids of the Community as a way to give children a day of fun. Martha Phillips expressed her gratitude for the city’s continued support and says last year’s event was a huge success.“Last year, most of the booth participants expressed deep pleasure they were able to successfully connect with a vast number of local children and expressed intent to participate in this year’s festival,” she said. “The sheer delight on those innocent young faces transmitted all we had hoped to achieve.”The first year attracted an estimated a number of visitors.“We conservatively estimate total attendance at about 1,500 to 2,000,” said Phillips.
