River Park Hospital will no longer accept dead bodies effective Monday, July 7, at 8 a.m.That was information River Park CEO Tim McGill wrote in a letter to County Executive John Pelham dated June 10.The letter said people who are organ donors are an exception.“In the future, if there is a deceased individual in the pre-hospital setting with verified documentation of organ donation, the hospital will manage the process of procurement in partnership with Tennessee Donor Services. At the conclusion of the donor harvest, the body should be received (same day) by Warren County EMS for proper disposition,” said McGill. The letter was discussed during the county Safety Committee meeting Thursday night.County safety coordinator David Britton said River Park has offered the county its side-opening morgue refrigerator free of charge. It will hold two bodies.
