HAWC offering Shop the Halls

If you are looking for some stocking stuffers or gifts for this Christmas season, Helping Animals of Warren County has an event for you.

This Saturday, Nov. 6, HAWC will be holding a sale called Shop the Halls with lots of affordable items that would be perfect as gifts. A generous supporter recently donated a large amount of new items, so those will be offered alongside a plethora of other goods in excellent condition.

“We need to get our funds up for spay and neuter costs,” said HAWC president Hollie Cox. “We decided to clean out our storage and hold an upgraded yard sale of sorts.”

HAWC strives to spay and neuter as many cats and dogs as it can within the Warren County area, while also helping families in need of pet food or dog houses. The efforts require a great deal of funding and donations, but HAWC works hard to help reduce the number of unwanted litters. Shop the Halls is a new fundraising effort for the nonprofit and Cox has high hopes for its success.

“Our prices will be very reasonable and we hope everyone will be able to find something they need,” said Cox. “Some of our items will be as little as $1, and we will have tables set up with different price brackets.”

Those who donate during the event will receive a free gift while supplies last.

Shop the Halls will take place Nov. 6 at Moose Lodge on Smithville Highway from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
