Girl Scouts aid Petey's Project through cookie sales

The sale of Girl Scout cookies pulled a double duty last week. While delighting individuals who purchased them, some proceeds went to benefit Petey’s Project.Girl Scout Troop 1744 decided to donate part of its profits from selling Girl Scout cookies to an organization in the community. The girls completed a “Brownie Brainstorm” and narrowed it down to Petey’s Project.“It will help all kids to be able to play outside with their friends,” said Lydia White, a Brownie.Petey’s Project was founded by a few Warren County pediatric practitioners and parents to initiate necessary projects for the children of Warren County and complete them with a community team approach.The mission is to create health, education, and well-being opportunities for children of Warren County with a vision that all children of Warren County have access to rehab services, recreational play stations, and experience personal triumph.“The new playground will let everybody play together,” said troop member Laurna Beth McCormick.
