Girl airlifted after tree fall

A girl was critically injured Thursday night when she fell while climbing a tree in her yard.The victim, Eden Ferrer, a seventh-grader at Warren County Middle School, was airlifted Thursday by LifeForce helicopter, which made its landing at Pepper Branch Park near the scene of the West Riverside fall.According to police reports, witnesses say Ferrer was climbing a tree in front of a West Muncey Street residence when she slipped and lost her grip. Witnesses said the girl had climbed to the top of the tree and was about 15 feet off the ground when she began tumbling from the tree, hitting branches on the way down before hitting her head against the trunk of the tree upon landing on the ground.Attempts to get an update on her condition were unsuccessful Saturday.
