McMinnville resident Scott Garing was recently conferred the Officer of the Year Award by the Governors Highway Safety Office. Garing serves as a police officer in Spencer.
McMinnville resident Scott Garing has been recognized as Officer of the Year by the Governor’s Highway Safety Office for the 27-county Cumberland Region.Garing lives in McMinnville and works at Spencer Police Department. He was nominated by Chief Michael Brock.“Scott is very active patrolling the streets for the safety of our citizens and the safety of those passing through Spencer and Van Buren County,” said Chief Brock. “He is very proactive in making traffic stops and I think that’s most of what resulted in him getting this award.”Brock said he submitted a variety of statistics involving Garing from Jan. 1 to Oct. 1, 2015.
