Fugitives arraigned

Two fugitives were given hearing dates during a brief General Sessions docket hearing this week by Special Judge Barry Medley.The first fugitive, R.D. Martin, was given a Nov. 1 hearing date to be heard by General Sessions Judge Larry Ross.Martin was caught hiding in a friend’s home a few days after he rammed a deputy’s car with a pickup and then skidded through a graveyard, knocking down tombstones.Martin ran from the scene on foot leaving behind two other suspects and a meth lab inside the pickup. He is charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, leaving the scene of an accident, and evading arrest.The next fugitive, Travis R. Hale, was given a Nov. 15 hearing date. He is charged with leading lawmen on a chase through Centertown before crashing into a bean field.
