Financial aid workshop Thurs. at WCHS

If you have a student preparing for college, chances are you have concerns about the cost.It’s with that in mind, a financial aid workshop will be held at Warren County High School this Thursday, Jan. 12, at 6 p.m. in Room 144.The workshop is for high school seniors and their parents who have not completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. This application is necessary to receive the Hope Scholarship and other financial aid.The workshop will begin promptly at 6 p.m. A representative from the Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation will be on hand to answer any questions.The FAFSA workshop comes as College Board says the average cost at a four-year institution is over $8,000 a year. College Board is a not-for-profit organization committed to connecting students with a college to fit their needs.According to College Board:• In 2011-12, public four-year colleges charge, on average, $8,244 in tuition and fees for in-state students.
