Farmers Market vegetable program to start in July

Get ready for some free veggies. The Warren County Health Department will begin issuing vouchers next Friday, June 28 for fresh fruit and vegetables at the Farmers Market.
The vouchers are for residents age 60 and over who meet certain income guidelines. Recipients will receive a total of $35 in vouchers with $20 to be used in July and $15 in August.
The program, called the Farmers Market Senior Nutrition Program, has been popular its first few years in existence. The goal is to give seniors a way to enjoy the nutritional benefits of Tennessee-grown fruits and vegetables. The Warren County Senior Center assists in the program.
To qualify, you must be a Warren County resident age 60 or over.
The income guidelines are as follows:
• Family of 1 – $14,937 year, $1,245 month, $288 week
• Family of 2 – $20,163 year, $1,681 month, $388 week
• Family of 3 – $25,389 year, $2,116 month, $489 week
• Family of 4 – $30,615 year, $2,552 month, $589 week
• Family of 5 – $35,841 year, $2,987 month, $690 week
• Family of 6 – $41,067 year, $3,423 month, $790 week
• Family of 7 – $46,293 year, $3,858 month, $891 week
• Family of 8 – $51,519 year, $4,294 month, $991 week
For each additional person, add $5,226 a year, $436 a month, and $101 a week.
