Godwin picked to attend prestigious academy

Delete - Merge UpSarah Jean Godwin is now attending school in New York City. She was chosen among thousands of talented applicants to attend the prestigious American Musical and Dramatic Academy for the musical theater conservatory program.
Godwin is a 2004 graduate of Warren County High School and a 2009 graduate of Rhodes College in Memphis. She has voice training, has studied abroad in Italy, and can play piano.
Godwin has experience as an actress, singer and dancer. She has performed in such shows as “Madama Butterfly” at Opera Memphis, the lead in “Scenes: LaBoheme” at Rhodes College, and Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” and Manchester Arts Center.
She is the daughter of David and Glenna Godwin, and granddaughter of Bud and Reba Godwin and Charles and Jean Boren.

Students attend Governor’s School

Some of Tennessee’s best and brightest high school juniors and seniors attended the four-week long Governor’s School for the Humanities at the University of Tennessee at Martin.
 UT-Martin has sponsored the Governor’s School for the Humanities program since 1985, and this was the 10th year students were able to earn college credit. Area students attending include Colyn Young and Lesley Sweeton.
