Eastside Elementary School joined the effort to encourage washing hands to prevent illness this flu season. The school used some unique teachers – its students.“We chose the perfect age group for this,” Eastside nurse Patricia Hiner said of students third grade and under. “They love to role play and they’ll make the perfect teachers.”Hiner, along with Eastside nurse Terri Bryan, held hand washing classes Wednesday called “Lesson Plans for Clean Hands” to instruct students on how to teach others the proper way to wash their hands.“This is something new,” said Bryan.
