Dozens honored for preservation efforts

Heritage Alliance, Warren County’s “historic umbrella” organization, held its 2011 annual meeting and historic preservation awards ceremony at the Galligan and Newman law office on Main Street.Attendees toured the restored law offices before convening on the front lawn for the annual meeting. Awards were presented to individuals, businesses, organizations and historic properties. Individuals receiving awards:• Pat Bigbee — for creation of the Bicentennial Heritage Garden on the greenway• James A. Dillon Jr. — in recognition of a lifetime of devotion to the preservation and documentation of local history• Mike and Rhonda Galligan — for community philanthropy and sponsorship of heritage events• Steve Grove — Sedberry Hospitality Award for fostering southern ideals and standards of good taste through planning and catering events at Magness Library• Billy Holland — for his 2011 Eagle Scout project• H.C.
