A Doyle man is dead after he was shot by sheriff’s deputies in neighboring White County after the man allegedly pulled a gun on the officers.The fatally wounded man, whose identity was not being revealed by the TBI at press time Saturday, died from his wounds at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga after he was airlifted by LifeFlight helicopter. An investigation is now under way by the TBI.From the scant details available concerning the officer-involved shooting, the incident happened around noon Friday at a residence on Howard Spake Lane in Doyle, a small town off Sparta Highway located just past Rock Island.Preliminary reports reveal three White County deputies went to the location to serve the man with warrants for his failure to appear at a recent court date. At some point after their arrival, the man reportedly pulled a gun on an officer, and officers opened fire fatally wounding the man.
