State Rep. Charles Curtiss has resigned from his position of 19 years after taking a job as executive director of the Tennessee County Commissioners Association.“As of midnight on New Year’s, I was John Q. Public again,” Curtiss said of his resignation as 43rd District state representative. The district serves White, Grundy and roughly two-thirds of Warren County.Curtiss had previously announced he would not seek re-election, but said at the time he would finish his term, which ends in November. With his resignation, the White County Commission must appoint his successor in time for the upcoming legislative session which begins Jan. 14.
