Members of the county’s Financial Management Committee voted to award the bid for the replacement roof on Ambulance Station One to Cripps Roofing of McMinnville. Commissioners said the roof has been leaking for quite some time.
The roof will be replaced with a 26-gauge screw down roof with ice and water shield for a price of $32,940.
Only two bids for the project were submitted, one from Cripps and one from Cookeville Sheet Metal. Cookeville Sheet Metal did not submit a bid for the 26-gauge screw down roof. Its bid for a 30-year shingle was $25,650.
The committee decided to keep the existing gutters and not replace them at this time.
The start date for the project was estimated for mid-November and the completion date is expected to be 40 days past the award date with maximum 60 days for completion.
