McMinnville celebrated Arbor Day 2012 on Friday by planting a tree on Court Square. The tree was donated by Ben Lomond Garden Club.“It’s a Redpointe Maple,” said Garden Club member Bette Myers. “It needs full sun and will make a wonderful shade tree when fully grown.”Hank Patton, city landscape manager, says the decision was made to plant the tree on Court Square where the city had to remove a 100-year-old tree recently.“This tree will balance the two areas out,” said Patton.
