County won't pass along sign costs

Passing the financial cost of signs to honor a veteran onto them or their families will not happen, says Warren County Executive Herschel Wells.The county’s Policy and Personnel Committee met this week and concerns were raised about a Budget and Finance Committee meeting held one week prior in which consideration was given to passing the cost onto the entity that makes a request to honor an individual with a road or bridge name.Commissioner Tommy Savage says he contacted Road Superintendent Levie Glenn about paying the cost for the signs associated with naming two bridges after Warren County natives Joe Delong and Eric Frazier.“I called Levie about the signs on the new road for Joe Delong and Eric Frazier,” said Savage during the meeting held Monday. “He said they were going to be about $300 a sign. Joe’s sister lived across the street from me.
