Warren County authorities made a major drug bust Wednesday, jailing a Manchester man who had large amounts of fentanyl.

Joshua Dale Aldo Ramsey, 32, a Virginia native who is listed as a Manchester resident, is currently incarcerated in the Warren County Jail on a $500,000 bond.

According to Warren County Sheriff Jackie Matheny, Jr., investigators from his office were notified Wednesday, Oct. 16, that a subject with a large amount of fentanyl pills would be coming to Warren County with the intent to sell the potentially deadly narcotic. WCSO investigators, along with detectives from the McMinnville Police Department, located the subject’s vehicle and arrested Ramsey at Medley’s Diner.

A search of Ramsey’s vehicle netted a baggie with over 200 pills believed to be fentanyl, as well as a large amount of cash. Further investigation revealed Ramsey possessed more pills, as well as marijuana, at an address in Moore County where he was residing. Moore County authorities were contacted and searched the residence, finding 200 more pills and a small amount of marijuana.

Ramsey was arrested for possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, a Class B felony. He will appear before General Sessions Judge Ryan J. Moore for arraignment on Oct. 22.

Matheny commended the joint effort of his department, MPD, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and the sheriff’s offices from both Moore and Coffee Counties for their cooperation.

“Fentanyl deaths are on the rise across the United States, and our county is not immune to this deadly drug,” Matheny said. “Every day that we can get this dangerous drug off of our streets and out of our community, is a day that I believe we have saved lives.”
