County wants to keep codes department

Feathers flew during a county Policy and Personnel Committee meeting to discuss the possible termination of the Codes and Environmental Department. In a heated discussion, with input from other commissioners and private citizens, the pros and cons of keeping the department were discussed.The Warren County Building and Environmental Codes Department is responsible for enforcement of building codes and regulations, as well as collection of construction fees, within the county. Current director Nolan Ming was hired in October 2013.The meeting was called after rumors circulated a commissioner was going to make a motion at the next full County Commission meeting to abolish the codes department.
