Sanitation director Steve Hillis and members of the county’s Health and Welfare Committee are still considering ways to limit out-of-town dumping at Warren County convenience centers.According to Hillis, Grundy County residents are utilizing the convenience center in Viola. Hillis said a concrete pad has been poured near the rock quarry in Grundy County for a convenience center, but one has never been established there.“They have a little pad there but they have never taken the effort to put dumpsters out there,” said Hillis. “I feel bad for those people out there who have to go up the mountain, but it is up to their county to do something about that.”Hillis said out-of-county dumping was not a problem years ago when workers were able to prohibit dumping based on the wheel tax sticker.
