The Warren County Ambulance Service may soon be the only ride in town.County officials are considering the legality of prohibiting private ambulance services from operating in the county.Members of the county’s Safety Committee voted 5-0 to have County Executive John Pelham meet with county attorney Rick Stacy and members of CTAS (County Technical Assistance Service) to determine if the county can prohibit licensing for outside ambulance services. If possible, the county will retain all ambulance runs in Warren County.The motion followed an announcement by Warren County Emergency Ambulance Service director Brian Jennings informing the committee that ProMed ambulance service, a service which appeared to be operating out of Warren County without a business permit, has gone bankrupt.“ProMed has gone bankrupt. They have sold, to my knowledge,” said Jennings.
