Decoration Day at Old Bybee’s Cemetery in the Midway community will take place at 2 p.m. Donations are appreciated for upkeep. For more information, call 686-2436 or 686-2600.


Decoration at Asbury Cemetery in Rock Island will be taking place. The meeting will begin at 11 a.m. with a covered dish lunch with business meeting to follow. If you are unable to attend and want to contribute, make check payable to Asbury Cemetery Fund and mail to Monice McGiboney, 205 Hickory Court. All donations are used for cemetery upkeep.

There will be a Smartt Reunion at noon at the creek by Northcutt Cove Church of Christ. Bring a covered dish. Everyone is welcome.



Warren County High School Football Booster Club is having a blood drive Friday, Aug. 23, from 3 to 7 p.m. located in the bloodmobile inside the end zone. Applications for the Baby Show for babies 6 months to 48 months of age at the Warren County A&L Fair are now available at JC Penney, Ashley’s Attic, Kathy’s Formal Wear, Southern Standard and Warren County Extension Office. Completed forms and a $30 registration fee must be postmarked by Aug. 28 and mailed to: AAUW, P.O. Russell Cellular is ready for back to school. The store has decided to partner with Centertown School to bring new shoes to students in need. Donations can be made now through Aug. 31. For every “Hedgie’s Hometown Heroes” PopSocket purchased, Russell Cellular will give back 100 percent of the profit to new shoes can be purchased for students at Centertown. Warren County High School class of 1979 will be holding its 40th class reunion on Sept. 28 at McMinnville Country Club. Social hour begins at 6 p.m., a group photo will be at 6:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7 p.m. The cost is $40 per person. Money can be mailed to P.O. Box 8056, McMinnville, TN 37110.  The class will also be attending the Homecoming football game on with a social at Smooth Rapid after the game.
