TODAY, APRIL 8
There will be an Easter sunrise service at 6 a.m. at Bethel Hill Baptist Church at 1137 Green Hill Road.

The descendants and friends of the late Elcana (Cain) and Kissamore (Kizzie) Green Golden will be gathering at Wayside Community Center for a covered dish lunch at 1 p.m. Egg hunt after lunch. Each child bring one dozen eggs.

A children’s Easter musical will be held during morning services at Locust Street Church of God. Worship service begins at 10:45 a.m.

A benefit dinner for Frances Campbell, the wife of Earl Campbell who recently passed away, will be held at 5 p.m. at Newtown Community Center at 912 Laws Road. The benefit will help with funeral and uncovered financial expenses. Event will include gospel music and auction. Call 668-2353 for more information or to donate an auction item.

Moose Lodge will be holding a breakfast at the lodge on Smithville Highway from 8 to 11 a.m. Proceeds will benefit the Children’s Advocacy Center.

A karaoke singing contest will be held at Joyce’s Mountain Market on Harrison Ferry Road atop the mountain. Free admission. Lunch is available and contest starts at 1 p.m.

The Covenant Academy Spring Fling will be held at 3 p.m. with games and fun for all ages. Drawing at 5 p.m. and auction at 5:30 p.m.
