McMinnville native Adam Aycock is preparing for another seafaring adventure – this one across the globe.The U.S. Navy Commander is preparing for a move to Yokosuka, Japan, where he will take command of the USS Shiloh, a guided missile cruiser that operates with a crew of 400.The USS Shiloh is a complete battleship with guided missiles and rapid-fire cannons. It’s capable of defeating threats in the air, at sea, on shore, or underneath the sea. The ship carries two multi-purpose helicopters, mainly for anti-submarine warfare.“This is a distinct privilege,” said Commander Aycock, a 1989 Warren County graduate.
