A man caught trying to pawn stolen merchandise after breaking into a West End Avenue home has been bound over to the grand jury on aggravated burglary charges.
The suspect, Terry Raybon Collins, 29, of Smithville was bound to the grand jury by General Sessions Judge Larry Ross on the charge of aggravated burglary.
His charges come after the resident of an apartment on West End Avenue came home after being gone less than an hour to find his home had been burglarized. The burglar had made entry into the apartment by prying open the door. Taken were a 32-inch Vizio flat-screen TV along with a digital camera and $10 in loose change. The total loss was placed at $584.
Following the burglary, pawn shops were warned to be on the lookout for the stolen goods. That is when First Choice Pawn Shop on Smithville Highway responded that Collins had just been in the store where he had pawned the TV. He had been in the company of two women when he came in the store, the women both known to law enforcement due to past brushes with the law. An attempt to pawn the digital camera was unsuccessful.
