City identifies top issues for future

Combining and upgrading McMinnville Civic Center with the Senior Center is the top recreational concern of attendees at the McMinnville 2035 Vision Planning Session held recently at City Hall.The session, a coordinated effort between the Municipal Technical Advisory Service (MTAS) and McMinnville officials, offered the 45 people who attended a chance to voice their opinions on four topics – parks and recreation, tourism, environment, and economic development – and which direction the city should be going.Group members were asked their feedback on what will be important 20 years from now and what to consider changing. The attendees placed in order of importance items under the four categories.McMinnville Mayor Jimmy Haley presented the voting results to members of the Joint Economic and Community Development Board at a meeting held Wednesday at Gondola. MTAS calculated the results of the responses given by participants.
