After 25 years with the city, McMinnville Fire Chief Kevin Lawrence was handed his termination papers Wednesday.Lawrence was fired by city administrator David Rutherford.“We don’t discuss personnel issues,” said Rutherford when asked about the firing.Lawrence was hired by the city on March 23, 1986 as a firefighter. He rose through the ranks, being named fire marshal in 1988. In 2000, he was named fire chief.
