A staff meeting was held Wednesday at City Hall between Mayor Jimmy Haley and department directors to establish a “plan of action” for continued operation of the city.Haley was named interim city manager last Friday after David Rutherford retired as city administrator and accepted a job in Crossville.“For the city of McMinnville to run smoothly and government operations to fully function, a void must be filled until a new administrator is hired,” said Haley. “This is not the first time the city has been left without an administrator so this is not new territory for us to explore. We must, however, agree on a plan of action.”Haley’s plan is to divide the duties of the administrator, 12 total, among himself, city recorder Shirley Durham and department directors.“I’m positive that department heads will step up and shine,” said Haley.
