The disorderly conduct charge against local resident Rhonda Cutler has been dismissed.
“I’m innocent and I think the charges being dismissed proves it,” said Cutler. “I feel like I’ve been wrongly prosecuted and it cost me $700. There should be some financial remedy in place for people who have their cases dismissed.”
The charges stemmed from an altercation Cutler witnessed while attending the Autumn Street Fair on Oct. 5 of last year. The situation attracted three officers and confusion quickly set in, says Cutler.
“I had one officer telling me to leave,” said Cutler. “When I tried to leave, a second officer blocked my path. They asked me for my driver’s license, but I didn’t have it on me. I didn’t understand why they wanted my personal information. I was trying to leave.”
