Members of the county’s Financial Management Committee voted to award B&R Heating and Air of McMinnville the bid to install a two-ton air conditioning unit at Warren County Jail.
B&R Heating and Air was not the low bidder at $4,894. The lowest bidder, Bob’s Air Conditioning, also of McMinnville, submitted a bid of $3,900, but failed to attach addendum No. 1 to its bid.
The addendum, as well as a drug-free workplace affidavit, were required to be attached to bids in order for the bids to be considered.

Bid received were:
• B&R Heating and Air – $4,894
• Bob’s Air – $3,900
• Carwile Mechanical – $6,440
• Lee Co. – $6,112
• OK Heating and Air – $5,210

B&R Heating and Air, and Lee Co., were the only two bidders to attach addendum No. 1 and the drug-free workforce affidavit to their bids as required.
Members of the Financial Management Committee present for awarding the bid were County Executive John Pelham, commissioners Terry Bell, Wayne Copeland, Billy Earl Jones, Herschel Wells and Director of Schools Bobby Cox. Road Superintendent Levie Glenn was absent.
