Criminal homicide charges have been leveled after a man was beaten to death with a baseball bat in neighboring Van Buren County.Dead is Billy Joe Clark, 35. He died from the massive head injuries he sustained four days earlier allegedly at the hands of Manuel Rodriguez. The alleged killer is charged with criminal homicide and is being held under a $250,000 bond awaiting preliminary hearing before Van Buren County General Sessions Judge Sam Benningfield on Feb. 6.According to District Attorney Lisa Zavogiannis, the case remains active as to what prompted the fatal blow.
