A woman who let her dog die in a hot car last summer has been sentenced to two weeks in jail and has been warned not to own any more animals.The woman, Lynn Alison Barr, 56, entered a guilty plea to the reduced charge of animal cruelty and was sentenced by Circuit Court Judge Bart Stanley to serve 14 days of an 11-month, 29-day sentence. She has also been restrained from owning any animals and must perform 50 hours public service work.The incident involving the dog’s death happened after Barr had been drinking at Dr. D’s on New Smithville Highway in July. Other patrons noticed there were two dogs inside her vehicle.
