One person was killed and four more were airlifted following a single-vehicle accident off Vervilla Road on Thursday night.

According to a report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, four of the five victims are in their teens

The fatally injured person is 17-year-old Ashlyn Barnes who was a passenger in the SUV.

The driver has been identified as Ramiro Ibarra, 19. He was airlifted along with three other passengers – Holden Nunley, 19, Amber Bates, 17, and Geoffrey Washom, 20.

A convoy of emergency vehicles descended on the wreck scene, which was well off Vervilla Road in a field not far from Warren County High School. Based on the distance of the vehicle from the road – and the fact it uprooted a tree in its path – it is believed to have been traveling at a high rate of speed.

The Highway Patrol says the vehicle traveled 1,092 feet after it left the road.
