The highly guarded secret is about to be revealed.
Friday night will mark the first public performance of the WCHS Pioneer Pride Marching Band’s halftime show. The performance will cap two weeks of band camp taking place at the high school.
“The show is called Paint it Black,” said band director Duane Farnham. “The kids have really been working hard on it. We’re going from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day this week.”
When asked if the routine will be a tribute to The Rolling Stones who released a hit song called “Paint it Black,” Farnham said it may be based partly on songs from the iconic band but not entirely.
As far as their routine, band members have to learn the music and also their steps. They were busy last week working on their spacing and also marching forward and backward.
Friday night’s performance will begin at 5 p.m. at the band practice field at WCHS.
