Arrest made in robbery shooting

A White County man has been arrested for opening fire on three people near Shellsford Bridge Sunday evening leaving one man wounded.The suspect, Jeffery Michael McBride, 30, is charged with three counts of aggravated assault. He was taken into custody Thursday morning at his brother’s home in Sparta and is being held under $150,000 bond at Warren County Jail.He is charged for wounding Derrick Gene Sullivan, 34, who is under treatment at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville for the gunshot wound to the midsection.The victim was shot while he was standing with a couple of friends near Shellsford Bridge Sunday night. The victims said McBride pulled a gun and a scuffle ensued during which time Sullivan was shot in the stomach by the small caliber weapon.McBride is charged with felony assault on all three people who were present during the shooting.
