McMinnville’s annual bicycle race is changing gears and becoming a full-scale festival this Saturday on Court Square. There will be live entertainment, food vendors, a pet corner, dunking booth, inflatable attraction, and plenty of bicycle racing in downtown McMinnville. There will also be a chance for kids to win a new bike courtesy of the Southern Standard. It’s all part of what had been the Chamber of Commerce-sponsored Highland Rim Cycling Classic for the past 20 years. After the Chamber announced last year it would no longer be holding the annual bike race, Living Well Events stepped in and said it would organize the race, but with some major changes.“When we realized the bike race was going to be discontinued, we decided we couldn’t let that happen,” said Tracy Martin, a Warren County native who founded Living Well Events with her best friend, Shonda Alexander.
