The Southern Standard and a dozen area businesses are bringing Christmas cheer to Warren County.

The Standard’s 12 Days of Christmas Giveaway kicked off Wednesday with Leann Cagle picked randomly as the first winner. She received a $50 gift card to Super Rama.

Thursday’s winner is Glenda Hughes, who wins a $50 gift card from Morrison Hardware for entering online.

Entering the contest is simple. All you have to do is go to the Standard’s website, www.southernstandard.com, and click on the Santa wallpaper on the right side of the home page or '12 Days' on the top navigation bar.

From there, enter your email address and you are eligible to win. A computer program randomly selects the winner each day.

Participants must register by 5 p.m. each day to be eligible to win. You can register once per day.

At the end of the promotion, the Standard will make is an especially bright Christmas for one lucky contestant who will win $250 in cash and a one-year home subscription.
